He was predeceased by: his parents, Harry Kersey and Maxine Sylvest; his daughter Diana Kersey; his siblings, David Kersey, Lloyd Kersey and Faye May; and his stepfather Ralph Sylvest.
He is survived by: his children, Haley Skaines (Kevin), Joe Kersey (Jessi) and Brian Kersey (Brittany); his grandchildren, Trey, Bean, Sissy, Bryson, Sylvia, Ava, Scarlet and Kaylie; and his siblings, Georgetta Kersey (Thomas), Loretta Sylvest, Ida Marie Bottoms, Jerry Kersey (Melissa), Mark Kersey (Allison), Brillo Sylvest, Ed Sylvest, Billy Sylvest (Denise) and Harry Kersey. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, and many honorary nieces, nephews, and grandchildren.
