He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Fontenot and Orelia Fontenot; and his siblings, Rosa May, Lucinda Elliot, Andrew Fontenot, Jane Thibodeaux and Linda Gaspard.

He is survived by: his wife Mary Fontenot; his children, Kay Lowry (Steve), Kent Fontenot (Laura) and Kelli Turner (Jimmy); his grandchildren, Cherie'Lancon, Brittany Reyna, Derek, Anne-Marie Fontenot, Bradley Lowry, Alyssa Rogers and Ashtyn Turner; his great grandchildren, Jade, Brynn, Stryker Fontenot, Rowan, Malea Rogers, Abigail Lancon, Mateo and Malachi Reyna; and his siblings, Shirlene Matte and Milburn Fontenot.
