We announce the death of Ruth Ash of Denham Springs, Louisiana, who passed away on September 6, 2026, at the age of 89. Ruth will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. Ruth will be remembered for the impact she had on the lives of those around her. Friends, family, and colleagues will cherish their memories and the time shared. Those who knew Ruth will remember moments of kindness, warmth, and presence. Though words cannot fully capture her life, the legacy of connections and experiences remains. Ruth’s absence will be deeply felt by those who valued her companionship.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Perkins H. Atkinson and Mearle Kennard Atkinson; her siblings, Clarice Ballard and Charles Atkinson; and her great grandchild Joel Ash.
She is survived by: her husband Bob Ash; and her sons, Kerry Ash (Kellie), Chris Ash (Debbie) and Kurt Ash (Channon). She is also survived by 8 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; 1 great great-grandchild; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, September 9th 2026 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Amite Baptist Church (7100 Amite Church Rd, Denham Springs, LA 70706). A celebration of life was held on Wednesday, September 9th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
