He is survived by : his wife Sammye Perkins; his children, Robin Dilley (Greg), Terry Garner (Mitch), Lisa Curry Brassieur (Ronald), Debbie Smith Perkins, Gary Perkins, Tom Curry and Harry Perkins (Amy); and his siblings, Alvin "Sonny" Perkins (Connie), Charles Milton Perkins, Charlotte Anne Perkins and Terry Perkins (Janice). He is also survived by 18 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren.

“Sammie - Ann and all of Harry Jean's family, I just want to offer my condolences on Harry's death. Focus on all the good times and great memories and know that he is in a much better place today. Also, know how much he loved each of you. To me and the rest of his classmates, we too mourn his death with you and have you in our prayers. Back in November, we all had a great day together and Harry Jean still had his hearty laugh and infectious smile. But, it was not the same friend we all knew.”
