Leonard leaves behind cherished memories for friends, family, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. Leonard’s life was marked by connections and experiences that touched those around him. Though he is no longer with us, the moments shared, the laughter, and the support he offered will continue to resonate. All who knew Leonard will carry forward his memory in their hearts.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Leon Nixon and Alvira Jean Nixon; his wife Kay Nixon; and his brother Leon Nixon. He is survived by: his children, Daryl Nixon (Cheryl), Tonya Nixon and Gary Nixon; and his siblings, Sandy Carpenter, Jeannene Cotton, Freddy Nixon and Mark Nixon (Dedra). He is also survived by six grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Friday, October 9th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Saturday, October 10th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Riley Smith & Sons - DeQuincy (1810 W Fourth St, DeQuincy, LA 70633). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 10th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Riley Smith & Sons (1810 W Fourth St, DeQuincy, LA 70633).
