He was predeceased by : his wives, Gertha Sellers Champagne and Leaster Champagne; his parents, Emar Champagne and Eunice Champagne; and his brother Roland Champagne.

He is survived by : his children, Chester Champagne (Debby), Karen Champagne, Keith Wooten (LeAnn) and Billy Wooten Lyons (Ricky); and his sisters, Flo Steinke and Rose Menard. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren; brother.
