He was predeceased by: his father Shirley Smith; and his brother Joey Smith. He is survived by: his wife Leah Smith of DeRidder, LA; his children, Lucas Hanchey of DeRidder, LA, Ashley Mauldin (Stuart), Krista Gomez (Roland) and Ava Hanchey of DeRidder, LA; his mother Pat Scott of Wichita, KS; and his siblings, Kevin Smith of Rosepine, LA and Laurie Smith of Olla, LA. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.
