She was predeceased by: her husband Elton Thompson; her daughter Leota Lacey; and her parents, Elmer McKeegan and Violet Martin McKeegan. She is survived by: her children, Connie Higginbotham (Douglas Myers) of Vidor, TX, Elton Thompson (Charlene) of Merryville, LA and James "Jim" Thompson (Rhonda) of Merryville, LA; and her siblings, Albert McKeegan (Jackie) of North Freedom, WI, James McKeegan of Greenville, AL, Kay Scanlon (Tom) of Reedsburg, WI and Carol Ailshie of Dalhart, TX. She is also survived by twelve grandchildren; thirty-two great grandchildren; five great-great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 26th 2026 at 8:00 AM at the Myers Colonial Funeral Home (3178 US-190, DeRidder, LA 70634). A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, September 26th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
