He was predeceased by: his former wife Jackie Cryer; his daughter Cathy Cryer Simmons; his brother Robert Cryer; his great grandchild Lakean Cryer; and his parents, Earl Cryer and Effie Cryer.
He is survived by: his wife Norma Meaux Cryer of Dallas, TX; his son Gerald Cryer (Linda); his grandchildren, Jared Cryer, Allison, Jeremy Cryer, Jody Cryer, Angela, Jason Simmons, Toni, Mindy Simmons King and Mick; his great grandchildren, Taylor Cryer, Cooper Cryer, Keegan Cryer, Hunter, Posey, Jolie and James; his son-in-law Raymond Simmons; his sister-in-law Marie Cryer; and his nephew Robbie Cryer. He is also survived by nine great-great grandchildren.
A graveside service was held on Wednesday, August 13th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Cannon Cemetery.
