He was predeceased by: his parents, James Simmons and Mary Alice Simmons; his wife Merlene Phillips Skinner; his sister Paula Wagner; and his brothers-in-law, Pete and Johnny Phillips.
He is survived by: his children, Juanita Lambert (David), Lance Skinner (Machelle), Kayla Hunt (John) and Robin Sweeney (David); his grandchildren, Chase, Anarae, Rachel, Drew, Cody, Alyx, Logan, Candance, Samantha and Carley; his siblings, Peggy Crenshaw (Dale), Brenda Boren (Roger), Barbara "Niesy" Parsons (Kevin), Stanley Simmons (Lisa), Terry Simmons (Geney) and Rodger Dale Simmons (Sandra); and his brother-in-law Steve Wagner. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, family and friends.
