He is survived by: his son John "Johnny" Vernier (Monica) of Orange, TX; his grandchildren, Caleb, Brianne Vernier of Vidor, TX, Benjamin, Liz Vernier of Burleson, TX, Sean Larken of DeRidder, LA, Richele, Logan Felty of DeRidder, LA, Kayce and Casey Marler of DeRidder, LA; and his great grandchildren, Lyla, Arli, Neva Vernier, Augustus "Gus", Jasper Vernier, Ellie Bourque, Haelyn Vernier, Lincoln Flety, Royce, Kinlee and Maysen Marler. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Friday, September 11th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Myers Colonial Funeral Home (3178 US-190, DeRidder, LA 70634). A funeral service was held on Saturday, September 12th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the same location.
