He is survived by: his wife Shannon Thompkins Griffin; his children, Kdarrel Watson, Johnny Griffin Jr., Diamante Griffin, Jamarcus Griffin, Jalissa Caraway, Darian Thompkins, Tyler Thompkins, Dameris Thompkins, Khalia Thompkins and Isaiah Thompkins; and his siblings, Patricia Ann Freeman (Lightman), Rolanda Greenhouse and Calvin Brown.

Viewing will be held on Saturday, October 31st 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the First Assembly of God (3178 US-190, DeRidder, LA 70634). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 31st 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial will be held on Saturday, October 31st 2026 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Beauregard Cemetery.
