He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarance Merchant and Effie Tilton Merchant; and his siblings, Everett Merchant, Melvin Merchant and Evelyn Brooks.
He is survived by: his wife Dolores Merchant; his sons, Brant (Catherine Merchant) and Keith Merchant; and his grandchildren, Joby Avery and Jaime Harper.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 1st 2025 from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Myers-Colonial Funeral Home (3178 US-190, DeRidder, LA 70634).
