He was predeceased by: his parents, R. C. Benoit and Agnes Young (Benoit); his stepfather Malley Young; his brothers, Roy Benoit and Pierre Benoit; and his brother-in-law Barry Sullivan.
He is survived by: his wife Ann Myers Benoit; his sons, Glen Nelson (Kathy) and Lane Nelson (Margo); his siblings, Andy Benoit (Peggy), Robert Benoit, Cynthia Jones (Rodney), Kathy Sullivan, Mary Voizin (Steve) and Tammy Wilber (Shane); his sister-in-law Myra Benoit; his grandchildren, Devin Shanley, Debora, Lauren Shanley, Rishi Patel, Brandon Nelson, Hannah Blackwell, Crist, Hunter Nelson, Kirsten, Sean Nelson, Ethan Nelson, Evan Nelson and Kelsey Nelson; and his great grandchildren, Millie, Imre, Charlie, Milo, Asher, Owen and Maggie. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 7th 2025 at 10:00 AM. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 7th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Myers Colonial Funeral Home (3178 US-190, DeRidder, LA 70634).
