She was predeceased by: her parents, Roy S. Skinner and Cora Skinner; her husband Dewitt "Pete" Peterson; and her siblings, Opal Smith, Elton Smith, Sybil Hardin, Joyce Landrum and Nolan Smith.

She is survived by: her children, Connie P. Bowie of DeRidder, LA, Diannah P. Windham (Hugh) of Newton, TX, Diane Johnson and John Bowie; and her grandchildren, James A. Bowie (Shirley) of Hampton, VA, Jody L. Bowie (Michelle) of Oklahoma City, OK, Maurie Mechling of Gladewater, TX, Colby Mechling (Anissa) of Newton, TX, Courtney Hurst of Timpson, TX and Brooke Rieger (Chris) of Sandpoint, ID.
