Cortez; his daughter Sherry Luquette (Michael); his grandchildren, Michelle Hart (Joshua) and Dustin Luquette (Brittni); his great grandchildren, Avery, Ashton, Brayden, Dalton and Ava Luquette; and his sister Gloria Peyregne.

A funeral service was held on Friday, July 11th 2025 from 11:30 AM to 12:15 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Friday, July 11th 2025 from 12:45 PM to 1:00 PM at the Calendar St. Gertrude Cemetery (343 Down the Bayou Rd, Des Allemands, LA 70030).
