She was predeceased by: her mother Dorthy Smith Monroe; her siblings, Geniva Monroe, James Monroe David Monroe (Dawud Yamini), Floyd Monroe and Johnny Givens; her children, Brian K. Monroe, Mack Fred Monroe and Sharline A. Monroe-Smith; and her grandson Aaron A. Smith Sr..
She is survived by: her sister-in-law Donna Yamini. She is also survived by 28 grandchildren; a host of great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; nieces; nephews; and a host of other loving relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 10th 2025 from 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM at the Boyd Family Funeral Home (5001 Chef Menteur Hwy, New Orleans, LA 70126). A celebration of life will be held on Friday, October 10th 2025 at 1:30 PM at the same location.
