It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Leon Woodson of Deville, Louisiana, who passed away on September 20, 2025, at the age of 86, leaving to mourn family and friends. Though Leon has departed this earthly realm, his legacy endures — a legacy of love that will continue to illuminate the lives of family and friends in the darkest of hours. May his spirit soar on wings of eternal peace, forever cherished in the tender embrace of memory.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Zellion Woodson and Callie Franks Woodson; and his siblings, Evelyn Moore, Emma Cole, Eva Ashley, Elgin Bryant and Donald Lee Woodson.
He is survived by: his wife Dorothy Price Woodson; his son Justin Woodson (Descha); and his sister Mary Godwin. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, September 24th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Gallagher Funeral Home (3994 Monroe Hwy, Ball, LA 71405). A funeral service was held on Thursday, September 25th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the same location.
