He was predeceased by: his parents, Matt Edward Reed and Nula Lucas Reed; his wife Joyce Rae Smith Reed; and his siblings, Clyde Reed, Carlton Reed of Ezra Reed, D. H, Evie Beaubouef, Ethel Sims, Edna Beaubouef and Ellen Reed.
He is survived by: his children, Robert Reed (Loretta), David "Tater" Reed (Robyn), Angela Issman (Matt) and Kimberly Hoffpauir (Garrett); and his siblings, Lloyd Reed, Matt Reed, Jr., Vernell McCarty and Neva Nell Belgard. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren.
