He was predeceased by: his wife Shirley Nelson; his parents, Melissa Nelson, and Edgar Nelson, Sr.; and his brothers, Edgar, Jr., Spencer, Sr., Jerome and Kenneth Nelson.
He is survived by: his godson Robert Gray; his brothers, Lenroy, Stanley and Donald Nelson; his grandchildren, Shonice Duhon, Damerica Butler and Khyle Lewis; and his goddaughter Yolanda Payton. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Visitation was held on Friday, October 31st 2025 from 9:00 AM to 10:45 AM at the St. Augustine Catholic Church (174 KLOTZVILLE LANE HWY 1003, BELLE ROSE, LA 70341). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Friday, October 31st 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
