He was predeceased by: his son John Gregory Sonnier; and his brother Woodrow "Woody" Sonnier. He is survived by: his children, Duke Anthoney Sonnier, Jr. (Marianne) of West Monroe and Rhonda Sonnier-Lewis (Bill) of Eros, Louisiana. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren.
