It is with great sadness that we announce the death of John William VanOvermeer of Downsville, Louisiana, born in Detroit, Michigan, who passed away on November 20, 2023, at the age of 68, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by : his wife Denise Smith VanOvermeer; his parents, John VanOvermeer and Jeannine VanOvermeer; his brother Timothy VanOvermeer; and his nephew Gregory Landin.

He is survived by : his siblings, Ed VanOvermeer, Lynn Taylor (Ron), Kim Szegi (Jim) and Rebecca VanOvermeer. He is also survived by his aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
