She was predeceased by : her husband Homer Carey Franklin; her parents, James Edward Benson Hedgepeth and Julie Ann Oser Taylor; her daughter Scarlett Tipton; her siblings, Samuel Rex Hedgepeth, Juanita Thompson and Linda Saylors; and her great grandchild Franklin.

She is survived by : her children, Judy Briggs (Anthony) and Michael Tipton; and her sister Virginia Calhoun. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, and friends.
