He was predeceased by: his parents, James Howard Smithson and Glenda Lois Daniel Smithson; his wife Sharon Smithson; and his brother Larry Daniels. He is survived by: his children, James Bookout and Patience; his son-in-law Robert Bookout (Lori); his granddaughter Brittany (David Hudson); his great grandchild Clyde; his grandson Brandon (Katelyn); and his brother Roger Smithson (Judy).
