He was predeceased by: his parents, Placide Sonnier and Lilly Romero Sonnier; his wife Cludette Broussard Sounier; his brother Ronald Saunier; and his granddaughter Brandy Aimee Suire.
He is survived by: his daughter Donnell Sounier; his grandchildren, Jacquelyn Suire (Christopher Deshotels) and Joshua Dent (Kensie); his great grandchildren, Bralyn Landry, Ashton Staute, Tanner Vallot, Bronc Deshotels, Ahmie Dent and Rainn Dent; his siblings, Shirley Landry, Jane Broussard and Connie Trahan; his caregivers, Melody, Mia, John and Jacquelyn Suire; his niece Dannette Dore; and his former wife Edna Sounier.
