He was predeceased by: his former wife Ida Cecile Rebelle Speights; his parents, Winfred Speights and Earleene Ulmer Speights; and his siblings, David Ellis Speights, Velma Speights, Shirley Ann Delaughter, Charles Lee Speights and Jessie Roy "Joe" Speights.
He is survived by: his wife Veta Winegeart Stokes Speights; his children, Nathan Wade Speights (Anissa Peden Speights) and Amilinda "Ami" Speights (Tricia Ann Spaulding); his grandchildren, Josie Speights, Maggie Speights Hammers (Ryland), Justin Spaulding, Anna Spaulding, Danny, Adrienne and Blaine Stokes; his siblings, Clara Easterly, Lesley Speights (Katie), Linda Gayle Lott, Maudie Stephenson, Earlene "Tootie" Day and Beth Swanson (Terry); his siblings-in-law, Lanell Speights and Calvin Delaughter; and his former wife Cele. He is also survived by great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 17th 2026 from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Sharon Baptist Church (9433 Section Rd, Port Allen, LA 70767). A burial will be held on Saturday, October 17th 2026 at 12:00 PM at the Sharon Baptist Church Cemetery (9433 Section Rd, Port Allen, LA 70767).
