He is survived by : his children, Darwin F. (Fontenot, Jr.), Michelle Brown (Glenn) and Mandy Fontenot; his sister Wanda Berzas; his grandchildren, Joshua Aucoin, Spencer Aucoin, Malorie Love, Ethan Brown, Meghan Darbonne, Matthew Fontenot, Reeven Fontenot, Morghan Fontenot, Emily Fontenot, Aubrey Fontenot and Geneieve Fontenot; and his great grandchildren, Catherine, Hunter, Seth, Keilan, Wyatt, Mary Claire, Hazel, Reese, Collin, Emma, Hayden, Ella, Rylee, Aywan, Arielle, Mila, Nora, Porter and Declan.

Visitation was held on Tuesday, April 16th 2024 from 1:00 PM to 1:30 PM at the St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church (310 W Vine Ave, Eunice, LA 70535). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Tuesday, April 16th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
