He was predeceased by: his parents, Maeus Johnson and Lelma Rozas Johnson; his wife Norma Jean Oliver Johnson; his son Stephen Craig Johnson; and his siblings, Prampsey and Essie Fontenot.
He is survived by: his close friend Wesley Clanton (Baton Rouge); his sons, Dave Tyler Johnson (Nikki Fruge Johnson) and Michael Chad Johnson (Amy Young Johnson); his grandchildren, Zoe Walsh, Stephen Craig Johnson, Andre'Etienne Johnson, Luc Nicolas Johnson and Julee Claire Johnson; his sister Wordna "Love" Prescott; and his close friend Ruth Duplechin.
Visitation was held on Sunday, August 30th 2026 from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Monday, August 31st 2026 from 8:00 AM to 10:45 AM at the Ardoin's Funeral Home (1301 W Laurel Ave, Eunice, LA 70535). A rosary was held on Sunday, August 30th 2026 at 6:00 PM at the same location. A Mass was held on Monday, August 31st 2026 at 11:00 AM at the St. Anthony Catholic Church (310 W Vine Ave, Eunice, LA 70535). A burial was held on Monday, August 31st 2026 at the Mt. Calvary Cemetery (1400 E Laurel Ave, Eunice, LA 70535).
