He was predeceased by: his wife Sandra Sylvester Fontenot; and his parents, Clarence Fontenot and Mary Fontenot. He is survived by: his children, Michael Fontenot, Melissa Fontenot, Laura Fontenot, Debbie Fontenot and Ashley Fontenot. He is also survived by nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
