He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Zaunbrecher and Hilda Frey Zaunbrecher; his brother Patrick Zaunbrecher (JW Zaunbrecher); his grandsons, Jacob Craig Zaunbrecher and Rustin Roy Cassedy; and his son-in-law Stephen Conrad Voitier.
He is survived by: his wife Patricia McFarlin of Jennings; his children, Jackie Voitier of Crowley, Craig Zaunbrecher (Shonda) of Pine Island, Bradley Zaunbrecher of Crowley, Gretchen John (Joseph) of Estherwood, Shane Zaunbrecher (Mandy) of Elton and Wayne Zaunbrecher (Erica) of Elton; and his siblings, Loretta Kurta of Mowata, Linda Frey of Roanoke, Michael Zaunbrecher (Blandina) of Simmesport, Dale Zaunbrecher (Gwen) of Eunice, Reggie Zaunbrecher (Joan) of Eunice, John Lawrence Zaunbrecher (Leslie) of Mowata and Lambertina LaHaye (Mark) of Baton Rouge. He is also survived by 17 grandchildren and 24 great‑grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Sunday, September 20th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Monday, September 21st 2026 from 8:00 AM to 10:30 AM at the Ardoin's Funeral Home (1301 W Laurel Ave, Eunice, LA 70535). A rosary was held on Sunday, September 20th 2026 from 6:00 PM to 6:30 PM at the same location. A Mass of Christian burial was held on Monday, September 21st 2026 at 11:00 AM at the St. Anthony Catholic Church (310 W Vine Ave, Eunice, LA 70535). A burial was held on Monday, September 21st 2026 at the St. Lawrence Cemetery.
