She was predeceased by : her parents, Leon Dunbar and Annie Blalock Dunbar; and her siblings, Ione D. Reed Williams and Irvin Dunbar. She is survived by : her nephew Paul Reed (Elizabeth) of Bunkie; and her nieces, Debbie R. Bain (Buster) of Alexandria, Pat D. Edwards (Cobran) of Tupelo, MS, Judy D. Bordelon (Danny) of Lake Elsinore, CA and Susan D. Quebedeaux (Dwayne) of Lafayette.

Memorial may be made in memory of Leona to: St. Jude's Childrens Research Hospital or The Wounded Warrior Project.
