He was predeceased by: his parents, Willie Mae Dickerson Dawson and Leamon Dawson Sr.; his siblings, Justina Dawson-Harper, Leamon Dawson Jr., Emma Jean Dawson-Byrd and Ruby Lee Dawson-Gross; and his sons, Heath McArthur Dawson, Duntez Shawn Dawson and Marcus Alexis Dawson.

He is survived by: his children, Quincy Wilson, Timothy (Shawn), Nicolas, Makesha Dawson, Myasia Dawson and Taylor Dawson. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
