With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Burtman Ortego of Franklin, Louisiana, born in Ville Platte, Louisiana, who passed away on November 28, 2025 at the age of 93. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his wife Janet Arnaud Ortego; his son Robert "Jeff" Ortego; his parents, Ewell Ortego and Hazel Roberie Ortego; his sister Eloise Ortego Meche; and his brother-in-law Chester J. Meche.
He is survived by: his children, Cindy Ortego, Tony Ortego (Cathy) and Burt Keith Ortego (Wendy); his grandchildren, Sarah Landry Spain, John Savell (Tiffani), Collin Ortego (Maddie Walters) and Grant Ortego (Logan Hebert); and his close friend Jeanne Alleman Touchet LeBlanc. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
