We announce the death of Eugenie Battle in Franklin, Louisiana, who passed away on June 4, 2026, at the age of 87. Eugenie will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. She was predeceased by: her parents, Henry Harreld Dinkins, Jr. and Gertrude Eugenie "Disée" Opie Dinkins; her grandparents, Dr. Eugene Lindsay Opie, Margaret Simpson Opie, Henry Harreld Dinkins, Sr. and Stephanie Bercegeay Dinkins; and her sister Lindsay Harreld Dinkins-Eden.
She is survived by: her sisters, Margaret Dinkins Reeder of Austin and Mary Randolph Dinkins of Austin; her nephews, Sam Dinkins-Eden of New Mexico and Graham Dinkins-Eden of New Mexico; and her friends, Dr. Donna Tesi and R. Paul Fitch, III.
