He was predeceased by: his wife Edith Mae Smith Charpentier; his children, Deborah "Debbie" Smith and Charles "Charlie" Smith; his parents, Frank Charpentier Sr. and Bernadette Lancon Charpentier; and his siblings, Raymond Charpentier, Herman Charpentier, Darnell Charpentier, Stanley Charpentier, Allen Charpentier, Terry Charpentier, Frank Charpentier Jr., Emily Fuhrer, Odell Thibodeaux, Gloria Marcotte and Barbara Boudreaux.
He is survived by: his children, Sherry Charpentier (Wayne Zimmerman), Lisa Landry (David Landry) of Bayou Sale and Robert "Bobby Joe" Charpentier Jr. of New Iberia; his grandchildren, Tiffany Smith Borres, Donald (Courville), Victoria "Sunshine" Courville, Brandy Smith Pena, Micheal Savell Jr., Bryan Savell, Toby Boudreaux, Tabitha Landry Hopkins, Rebecca Landry Cameron, David "DJ" Landry Jr., Christy Landry, Patricia Landry, Stephanie Landry Sellers, Amber Charpentier, Zachary Charpentier and Alaya Charpentier; his sisters, Mary Lee Alcina and Linda Louviere; his close friend Evelyn Lovell; and his pet Clearwater. He is also survived by 35 great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren.
