He was predeceased by: his parents, Annie Howard and Andrew Payton; his siblings, Leonard Griffin, Ivory Payton, Saul Howard, Andrew Payton, Joseph Howard, Emma Nico, Annie Jones, Ora Broussard and Melvina Hawkins; his grandparents, Saul, Lizzy Bowles Howard, Taylor and Mary Payton; and his parents-in-law, Bowman and Lillian Mouton, Sr..

He is survived by: his wife Ethel Mae Mouton Howard of Centerville, Louisiana; and his children, Bridget Stansbury of Centerville, Kim Mouton (Marcell) of Jeanerette, Louisiana, Charles Stansbury, Jr. (Almetra) of Centerville, Anthony Stansbury (Dala) of Lafayette and David Stansbury (Cheryl) of Baldwin. He is also survived by fifteen grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, along with a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
