It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Labray Joseph Cheramie of Galliano, Louisiana, born in Golden Meadow, Louisiana, who passed away on April 29, 2026, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his wife Soledad Pedreira Cheramie; his parents, Vories Joseph Cheramie and Lucretia Marie Gaspard Cheramie; his daughter-in-law Yvonne V. Cheramie; his siblings, Linwood Cheramie (Irene), Roy Cheramie, Pearlie "Ta" Orgeron (George) and Willa Dene Comeaux Blair; and his brother-in-law Eugene Comeaux (Dwight Blair).
He is survived by: his sons, Kurt J. Cheramie (Celeste H. Cheramie) and Ken D. Cheramie (Brandy D. Cheramie); his grandchildren, Cory J. Cheramie (Mary) and Jenna C. Cheramie (Allison); his great grandchildren, Bowen J., Saylor M. and Weston M. Cheramie; his sister Lola Crochet (Elmer); and his sister-in-law Paulette Cheramie.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Thibodaux Regional Cancer Institute in his name.
