We are sad to announce that on April 21, 2025, at the age of 81, Joy Monica of Garyville, Louisiana passed away. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Joy Monica to pay them a last tribute.

She was predeceased by: her spouse Epifano "Fano" Monica; her parents, Herbert Scharwath and Ethel Siears Scharwath; her sister Faith Coneglio (late George); her parents-in-law, Frank Monica and Vita Navarra Monica; and her sister-in-law Phyllis Himel (late O'Neil).

She is survived by: her daughter Melissa Monica; her siblings, Aleta "Cookie" Scharwath, Frank Scharwath, David Scharwath, Ethel Audiffred (late Raymond), George Scharwath (Annette), Frank Herbert and Scharwath, Jr.; her aunt Hilda "Snook" Kilburn; and her siblings-in-law, Maria Stein (Wayne), Carl Monica, Frank Monica (Nancy), Anna Monica and Anthony Monica (Linda). She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers Joy requested donations be made to an animal rescue haven.
