It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Rita S. Brown of Gilbert, Louisiana, born in Winnsboro, Louisiana, who passed away on February 6, 2026, at the age of 78, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Wayne Seffens and Estelle Seffens. She is survived by: her husband Gene Brown of Gilbert; her children, Jane Brown Evans of Gilbert, Gene Brown, Jr. (Kaye) of Gilbert and Christa Savage (Michael) of West Monroe; her brother Roy Seffens of Fort Necessity; and her grandchildren, Victoria, Allen Michael, Halea, Jonathan, Jake, Nick, Meaghan and Mabry. She is also survived by twenty-three great-grandchildren, her fur-baby, "Izzy", and a host of extended family.
