He was predeceased by: his wife Vergie Collins Leonard; his sister Jamie Leonard Adams; his grandson Shawn "Big Shawn" Cole; his parents, William Sr. Leonard and Anita B. Leonard; and his siblings, Leander "Buck" Leonard, Dr. James Leonard, William Leonard Jr., Neva Jambon, Angelique Canalizo and Vergis Haley.
He is survived by: his daughters, Gwen L. Douvillier (Ruel) and Vickie Capro; his grandchildren, Christopher Cole (Emily), Joseph Douvillier (Amanda), Megan Adams and Andrew Adams (Adia); his great grandchildren, Caleb, Wyatt, Ruel, Ben, Eli and Renée; and his nieces, Marcy, Roxanne, Anita, Lera, Lola and Kelly.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 23rd 2025 from 8:00 AM to 10:00 AM at the First Baptist Church of Golden Meadow (187 Oakridge Dr, Golden Meadow, LA 70357). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 23rd 2025 at 10:00 AM at the same location. A burial will be held on Wednesday, July 23rd 2025 at the Our Lady of Prompt Succor Cemetery (723 N Bayou Dr, Golden Meadow, LA 70357).
