He was predeceased by: his parents, Mable Champagne Carter and Freddie Carter; and his brothers, Freddie Carter Jr. and Bill Champagne (Ethel Mae). He is survived by: his children, Shoendall Carter of New Orleans and Tamahya Miller of Donaldsonville; his friend Beverly Alexander of St. James; his grandchildren, Brelund Rounds, Shamar Harris, Demarcus Russell, Shamar Anderson and Amaya Russell; his great grandchildren, Kaylise Rounds, Jayniya Sayor, Kcion Williams and Kenzly Anderson; his brothers, Jessiner "Tom Cat" Smith and Larry Carter; his cousins, Mary Lee Nelson of Vacherie and Raymond Champagne of Atlanta; and his goddaughter Joy Aubert. He is also survived by eleven step grandchildren, one step great grandchild.
