She was predeceased by: her grandparents, Elizabeth Williams and Ivory Stewart; her parents, Della Stewart and Rogers Thomas; her sons, Brandon, Clarence and Lawerence Thomas; her siblings, Candy Lee Thomas, Brunette Thomas and Ivory Calais; her great grandchild Keeva Grace Thomas; her nephews, Jamie Leopaul Calais and Michael Calais; her uncles, John Stewart, Able Stewart and Ivory Stewart; and her aunt Phyllis Thibodeaux.
She is survived by: her husband Ernest Batiste; her children, Elizabeth Nicholas (Ivan), Charlotte Ledet (Clayton), Christina Thomas, John Menard (Erica) and Joshua Lewis; her aunt Louella Stewart; and her siblings, Emma Abraham, Annette Batiste, Beatrice Calais, Bradford Calais and Michael Calais. She is also survived by fourteen grandchildren; and a host of great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Visitation was held on Friday, July 11th 2025 at 8:00 AM at the Melancon Funeral Home (289 Church St, Grand Coteau, LA 70541). A funeral service was held on Friday, July 11th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
