He was predeceased by: his parents, Bill Rider and Barbara Floyd Rider; his siblings, Billy Rider, Larry Rider, Bobbie Harrison and Gayle Jenkins; his in-laws, Raymond and Audie Fatheree; and his brothers-in-law, Ronnie Fatheree, David Fatheree, Mike Fatheree and John Fatheree.

He is survived by: his wife Patricia Fatheree Rider of Grayson; and his brother Gary Rider (Kay) of Urania. He is also survived by two sisters.
