He was predeceased by: his parents, Boyce Johnson and Anna Lou Johnson; his wife Gaytha Johnson; his brother Teddy Johnson; his son-in-law Donnie Jarrell; and his siblings-in-law, Harvey Arrant and Sherry Bates.
He is survived by: his children, Royce Johnson, Jr. and Tonya Gilbert (Keith); his sister Lecolian Arrant; and his grandchildren, Logan Jarrell (Jeremy Moore), Kristina Hutto (Stven), Avery Gilbert and Brennan Gilbert. He is also survived by three great grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
