She was predeceased by: her husband Mervin Henderson, Sr.; her great grandchild Jarrius Malik Lofton; her parents, Willie Thompson and Annie Thompson; her siblings, Bishop Joseph S. Thompson (Carrie B.), Willie Wesley Thompson (Helen), Edward Thompson, Rosetta Diggs (George, Sr.), Annie Belle Malloy (Walter) and Newton D. Thompson (Shirely W.); and her sister-in-law Irene Thompson.
She is survived by: her children, Sonya Henderson, Mervin Henderson, Jr., John A. Henderson and Andrea Nikoi-Mabry; her grandchildren, Dr. Vaneshette Henderson, Toya Brown (Greg) and Eld; her great grandchildren, Imani, Imari, Indya, Logan, Landen, Benjamin, Jonathan, Gabrielle, Autumn and Izaiah; her siblings, Elnora Brown and Marcus Thompson; her children-in-law, Iris Henderson and John Mabry II; and her siblings-in-law, Albert Henderson, Frances Henderson and Shirley Thompson.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 4th 2025 from 8:30 AM to 10:00 AM at the Thompson Temple Church of God in Christ (1515 Whitney Ave., Gretna, LA 70053). A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, October 4th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the same location. FACE MASKS ARE RECOMMENDED.
