He was predeceased by: his wife Dora Lee Bakies; and his siblings, John, Raymond, Anthony, Vince, Helena, Delores and Rosemary.
He is survived by: his children, Blaine Bakies of Gretna, Brenda Bakies of Gretna and Bonnie Adams (Wayne) of Harvey; his grandchildren, Blainey Bakies Jr., Zachary Adams (Megan) of Gretna and Bailey Adams (Zachary) of Harvey; his great grandchild Tristen Bakies; and his siblings, James Bakies (Shirley) of Las Vegas and Anna Mae Draper of Carey. He is also survived by numerous loving nieces, nephews, and cousins.
