“I worked with Herbie for three years at OCTC in Harvey, La. I the ‘80’s. We stayed friends ever since. After the fatal accident in Arkansas that killed his father and severely injured Herbie, I stayed in contact. This accident and subsequent divorce from his wife leaving a much injured man with two small children would have crushed most anyone. Herbie persevered and his courage is a testament to the human spirit. Over the years, this tragedy finally took its toll on poor Herb. John S.”
