It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Owen Everett Roussell of Gretna, Louisiana, born in New Orleans, Louisiana, who passed away on July 9, 2025, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Rev. Ernest Roussell, Sr. and Beulah Gasper Roussell; and his siblings, Leona R. Williams (Morris, Sr.), Mable R. Patterson (William, Jr.), Vada Roussell, Ernest, Jr. (Claudette), Dewey B., Rev. Harold, Sr. (Azalea) and Glenn Roussell, Sr. (Debra).
He is survived by: his wife Valerie Prevost Roussell; his children, Leonard, Blake Roussell, Gregory Gourrier and Amanda G. Carter; his grandchildren, Charli Gourrier, Christian and Cross Carter; his siblings, Ann, Hilton, Sr. (Annette) and Joel Roussell, Sr. (Patricia); and his godchildren, Antoinette R. Boudreaux and Courtney Thompson. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
