He was predeceased by: his parents, Leon C. Vial, Jr. and Jessee Lucille Lowe Vial; and his brother Dr. David "Jerry" Vial. He is survived by: his wife Mary Janet Hargrove Vial; and his children, Leon C., Vial IV, Mary Janet "Nanette" Vial, Thomas Edward Vial and John Lowe Vial.
