He is survived by: his wife Carolyn Gates Dean; his children, James Norman Dean, Jr., Linda Carter (Charles) and Brenda Underwood (Ken); his grandchildren, Leslie Lombardo (Damien), Jana McDermott (Charles), Stephen Weeks, Cody Collinsworth (Shay) and Cricket Collinsworth (Patrick); his great grandchildren, Erika Feltman (Drew), Kelsi Newbury (Jared), Konnor McDermott (Hannah), Kaden McDermott, Lily Bracknell, Matthew Weeks, Emily Haynes (Joseph), Natalie Weeks, Elijah Collinsworth, Bailey Collinsworth and Ollie Orr; and his great great grandchildren, Zeyda Newbury, Magnolia McDermott and Oaklynn McDermott.
Visitation was held on Sunday, August 30th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Haile Baptist Church. A funeral service was held on Monday, August 31st 2026 at 10:00 AM at the same location.
